Is this free for me to join?

Yes, completely. Companies pay RemoteEngine; engineers never pay a fee β€” not to apply, not to get matched, not to convert from contract to full-time. If anyone asks you for a fee, it's not us.

How long does the vetting process take?

Most engineers complete the full pipeline in 7–10 days from application to in-the-pool. Faster if your calendar is open; slower if you need to spread the rounds across weekends.

Will I be a contractor or an employee?

Depends on the engagement. Full-time roles are typically EOR-backed employment in your country β€” with statutory benefits, paid leave, and a real employment contract. Contract roles are independent contracts via our Contractor of Record.

How is my profile shared with companies?

You control it. Companies see redacted profiles first; your full identity is shared only when you opt in to a specific shortlist. Nothing is broadcast.

What if I don't pass the technical screen?

You can reapply after 6 months β€” we'll keep your feedback notes on file. Most engineers who don't pass the first time pass on round two.

Can I leave or pause anytime?

Yes. You can pause your profile, decline matches, or leave the pool entirely whenever you want. We don't lock you in.
