This policy explains what personal information RemoteEngine collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this plain-English; if anything is unclear, write to us at privacy@remoteengine.co.
RemoteEngine Technologies (P) Limited ("RemoteEngine", "we", "us") operates the website at remoteengine.co and the related hiring, payroll, and EOR services. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
We process personal data to:
Where GDPR or equivalent local law applies, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the platform, your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies), and compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
We operate from India and personal data is primarily processed here. Where data is transferred outside your home jurisdiction, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent safeguards required by your local data-protection law.
We use a small number of essential cookies to make the platform work (for example, to keep you signed in) and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser or our consent banner. Doing so will not break essential functionality.
We keep personal data for as long as you have an active account and afterwards for as long as we need it to (a) meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements, (b) defend against legal claims, or (c) resolve disputes. Worker payroll and tax records are typically retained for seven years after the engagement ends.
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data — encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access controls, audit logging, regular penetration testing, and an ISMS aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2. No system is impenetrable; if a breach affects you, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@remoteengine.co. We will respond within the timeframes required by your local law.
RemoteEngine is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy as the platform evolves or to reflect legal changes. Material updates will be notified by email, an in-platform banner, or a WhatsApp message to the number you have on file. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision.
Where you have shared your phone number with us — for example by filling out a lead form, booking a demo, ticking the WhatsApp opt-in on our website, or messaging us first on WhatsApp — you consent to receive WhatsApp messages from RemoteEngine. These messages may include:
How to opt out. You can stop receiving WhatsApp messages from us at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or OPT OUT to any message we send, or by writing to privacy@remoteengine.co with the phone number you want removed. Opting out of promotional messages does not stop essential service messages (such as OTPs) that you need to use the platform.
Message routing. Messages are delivered through the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. and our authorised WhatsApp Business Solution Provider. Meta and the BSP process your phone number, message content, and delivery metadata under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention. WhatsApp conversations, opt-in evidence, and delivery logs are retained for as long as required to provide the service and to demonstrate compliance with Meta’s WhatsApp Business Solution Terms and applicable Indian law (typically up to seven years, aligned with our general retention schedule in section 8). We delete or anonymise this data sooner where possible.
Compliance. Our WhatsApp messaging complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 as it comes into force), TRAI commercial-communication regulations where applicable, and Meta’s WhatsApp Business Solution Terms, Commerce Policy, and Business Messaging Policy.
Grievance officer. If you have a complaint about how we have used WhatsApp or handled your personal data, write to our grievance officer at privacy@remoteengine.co. We will acknowledge within 48 hours and respond within 15 days, as required by Indian law.
To exercise your rights, raise a concern, or ask anything about how we handle your data, write to privacy@remoteengine.co or post a letter to our registered office.
